In this post, we will discuss some options if you are looking for a car satellite navigation device with a built-in dashcam.
The advantage of having a built-in dashcam in your GPS device is that you will not have to clutter your wind shield with tons of devices, obscuring your driving view. However, finding such a device can be hard. Which is why we did some research to help you find your ideal device.
It is very hard to find a good sat-nav+dash-cam device combo, so our list is very short. However, we will refresh and add new devices to this list when new good ones are released.

Garmin NuviCam LMTHD
The Garmin NuviCam is a GPS navigation device from Garmin which boosts a built-in dash-cam. If you have read our review of the Garmin DriveSmart 65 , you will know that I am a big fan of sat navs with larger screens, which is why the NuviCam is a favorite. With a 6.1″ screen, you can comfortably view the driving instructions that are on the screen. The device display has a nice 800 x 480 pixels making those graphics nicer to look at.
The NuviCam has two microSD card slots. One slot is for the camera recordings and the other one is used for storing the device maps and data. You install a card of up to 64 GBs of memory for video recordings. While the device does come with a microSD card, it has just 4 GB memory, so you will probably need to buy a larger one, if you want to
Even though the NüviCam is a bit of an older device, it is still one of the best ones out there. Users particulary liked the relatively nice nightly video quality, even when light conditions were minimal.

Garmin DriveAssist 51 NA LMT-S
Yet another device from Garmin with a built-in dash-cam. This model is newer than the NuviCam, so it will probably be easier to find. It also comes with a smaller, 5″ screen, which makes this device cheaper than the NuviCam.
Like the NuviCam, it comes with two microSD card slots. The video storage slot can accommodate cards up to 64 GBs. However, you still get the 4GB card out of the box. So you might need to upgrade the storage card. Our advice is to try out the device with the 4GB first, and then gauge how much memory would like to have.
Like other Garmin devices, users have mentioned that this is a slick and responsive device. However, some have complained about the collision warning feature being too sensitive.

Pyle GPS Touchscreen Android DVR Dashcam
This device from Pyle (aka Pyle PLDVRCAMAND75) is on the less pricey side than the Garmin devices. However, it boosts decent specs.
First, the device comes with a 7 inch touch screen, which is pretty sweet. The screen has a 1280 x 480 resolution, which is very nice among navigation devices.
A rear view back up camera comes out of the box, which you can install to record rear view video as well as front view. A feature that is missing from the Garmin devices.
The device comes loaded with Android OS, so you can either use the pre-loaded navigation app, or you can install your own.
Please note that there is no SD card out of the box, so you will have to buy your own if you need more than the 16 GB internal storage the device comes with.
Overall, the Pyle PLDVRCAMAND75 feels more like a dash-cam with GPS navigation functionality than a sat-nav with a dash-cam. However, it seems
